Before and After: Bringing Modern Energy to The Cedar

As part of a four-building portfolio in the vibrant Clark Park area of Philadelphia, Core Development renovated a nine-unit property now called the Cedar.

Prior to renovation, the property suffered from an outdated division of space and lack of amenities. Core Development brought modern luxuries – such as a new kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel applicances, dishwasher, breakfast bar and adjoining dining room, as well as hardwood floors throughout - while maintaining the historical character of the building.

“We wanted to pay homage to the original era of the house and maintain certain elements, while bringing in modern luxury to the property. We kept the palette light and fresh to reflect the energy of the space,” says George Kyrtis, Partner at Core Development. A mix of new furnishings and vintage finds imbues the property with plenty of character.

Now, the Cedar is a fully leased apartment building with short term stays available through Airbnb.
