Core Development Brings Luxury Hospitality to University City

Core Development is focusing on creating bespoke accommodations for travelers and, together with international design firm NK Design, launching several new hospitality-driven development projects in the Philadelphia area.

The first project to open is the Flats on Pine, a historic collection of 17 luxury short-term and traditional rentals in University City. Located within steps of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Medicine, the units are available to rent to travelers, professionals, and students.

“We feel there’s a strong market for historic properties that feature sophisticated updates and a smarter use of space,” said Peter Staz, partner at Core Development. “And this rental model will provide a much-needed option for visiting professors and doctors in University City.”

NK Design was responsible for the interiors and furnishings. The project’s architect, Swiatocha Architecture + Design, is a Philadelphia-based firm that specializes in the design of single and multi-family dwellings.

Core Development and NK Design have several other new development projects in the works, including boutique hotels in Old City and Northern Liberties.
